The Parks of Pinellas County Florida
Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg
100 Parks in 100 Weeks!

Welcome Fellow Park Explorer!

We started this project when the virus was locking everyone down. Fortunately, our Parks remained open, maybe minus the playgrounds and the rest rooms, but still with plenty of fresh air

and social distancing was not a problem. It said to us it was the perfect time and reason to start exploring our surroundings in this sub-tropical paradise. Many of us call it home and many others look forward to visiting on vacation.

Who knew – to begin with – that there were 100 Parks in Pinellas County? We didn’t! We can now assure you that indeed there are over 100 Parks and we invite you to join us as we take a photo tour of a new Park each Sunday and often include background or historical information we found interesting.

We do hope you will "Friend" us and in return we will always keep you in the loop and you will receive a note from from each week when the newest Park is up (in time to visit that Sunday if you wish!) Our group of intrepid explorers now exceeds 2,000 and growing. We appreciate all who are enjoying our local adventures.

Thank you for visiting. Your
comments are always welcome.

Your Hosts,

A little background on this project ...

Niki and I live in Clearwater, Pinellas County, just West of Tampa, on the Gulf of Mexico. Pinellas is known for quaint towns, beautiful beaches, stunning sunsets, public parks and some hidden gems to visit. Most are free to enjoy.

We have State Parks, County Parks, City Parks and local neighborhood Parks. Some are huge and some are relatively tiny, but they all have something special and beckon us to visit.

Parks are relatively empty of people and social distancing is very easy during the week, It’s time to put politics and Covid aside for an hour or two and get outdoors wherever you may be. It is exercise for the body and much needed Zen for our minds.

Niki and I enjoy exploring and photography. Our challenge for ourselves is to visit 100 different area parks and special places of interest and then post a photo – on local Facebook pages - each week that we think best shows – to us - what is special and different about each place we visit.

We invite you to comment and maybe even post a photo of what you like, or think is special about this week’s place or of a place you have visited during the week. If you do not do photos then tell us about the visit you made.
